ABOUT THE POSITIVITY PROJECT
The Positivity Project provides trauma-informed, one-to-one mentoring for children and young people who may benefit from additional support. Sessions are shaped around each young person’s views, wishes and feelings, using a PACE approach to build a safe, trusting and consistent relationship.
We offer 4, 6 and 8-week programmes, as well as ongoing sessions where appropriate. Young people remain with the same mentor wherever possible, with sessions focused on confidence, emotional wellbeing, resilience, communication, independence, life skills and positive aspirations.
HOW IT WORKS
01
Getting to Know You
We spend time understanding the young person’s views, wishes, feelings, interests, strengths and aspirations.
02
Tailored Mentoring
Weekly two-hour one-to-one mentoring sessions are planned around the individual using meaningful conversations, activities and experiences.
03
Building Trust
Using PACE and trauma-informed practice we build a safe, consistent relationship where the young person feels listened to, valued and understood.
04
Positive Growth
Together we develop confidence, resilience, communication, emotional wellbeing and practical life skills through achievable goals.
05
Looking Ahead
We celebrate progress, however small, helping young people leave with greater confidence, positive memories and skills they can carry into everyday life.
